History

The exact information of Brittany was lost, but presumably it could be traced back to French province as the place of origin for the breed. Sharing a lot of similar characteristics with Welsh Springer Spaniel, many people confused the two breeds as from the same genetic origin. Around 1852, Brittany in the current sense had been bred by mating with breeds from England. During the 20th century, Brittany was famous around European area.
