History

The origin of Cairn Terrier could be traced to the Highlands of Scotland and the Isle of Skye. At first, it was categorized in the "Skye Terrier" class. .In early 1900s, the three breeds of Cairn Terrier began to be bred separately. The name "Cairn" refers to the rock dens that foxes and badgers lived in all over countryside.
