History

The origin of Chinese Shar-Pei could be traced back to an all-purpose Chinese countryside dog. Due to this breed’s special physical traits, Chinese people think this breed could be used to scare away vicious spirits. After the foundation of the Chines nation in 1949, the dog breed became sparse. The breed was developed in the southern part in China and a few of owners in HK and Taiwan managed to keep the Shar-Pei alive. During 1960's and 1970's, Shar-Pei breed were carried to American.
